THE ALCHEMIST PHOTOGRAPHER
Vito Marchitelli
I'm a Light Hunter & Storyteller, I capture the soul of things and harness it into an immortal moment painted in black and white
I'm Vito Marchitelli AKA
Mark Tally
I'm an Italian artist
writer - photographer - director - visionary
I am first of all an artist, a director, a poet and a photographer, I specialized in black and white street photography, I love portraits because I think that faces speak more than words written in a book. I've been working in this sector for over ten years, I worked for the theater and in advertising sector for small and big brands, now I dedicate myself to telling stories through my images and my stories
About me
The Alchemy
The Alchemy has a fundamental allegorical and cultural role in my artistic works, I have always been a student of esotericism, and alchemical science fascinated me for its hybrid nature, the magic of the unknown that becomes discovery and finally science. And like the metal that can transform into gold, even the world stripped of its colors shows a hidden side of itself, which we can hardly perceive, because we are clouded by the frenzy of our everyday life.
Black & White
And then the reality deprived of the chromatic essence becomes pure violence for our eyes. The power of the contrasts between light and shadow, the closed and sterile blacks that devour entire details, unleashing our darkest fantasies, the burning lights that blind our thoughts. Wrinkles become impervious cliffs where to hide the truth and reveal the time that slowly kills us, the excessive clarity brings out every flaw hidden by the beauty of pastel tones.

manage the lights on the set trapped by the concrete
Plots
many of my installations are inspired by material elements, a search for textures, perfumes, consistencies, as in a perfect alchemical potion
Get lost in the cities
this is my alchemical recipe: getting lost and then finding yourself again, drunk on light, noises, sounds, running subway trains, screaming traffic lights, the shadows that redesign the architecture of the city
